It's that time of year again....time to find ways to keep the kids busy. We have the built in sports schedules but what else is there to do to fill the time?? My kids are older now but I still want to do some fun things with them before they are fully grown and don't want to hang out with me anymore. I think I am going to go back into the archives and do some of the fun things we used to do when they were younger. We are going to make the most of this summer for sure!
Here are just a few of the things we have on the schedule....
Bristol 4th of July Parade...
I grew up in Bristol and have gone to the parade every year since I was 5. My kids have gone every year since they were born. So that will kick off the season this week!
The Zoo....
We are so lucky to live 10 minutes away from Southwick's Zoo. It is such an amazing place to spend the day. When the kids were younger, I paid for an Earth Unlimited Pass and we would go at least once a week for the whole summer. I don't think you every outgrow the zoo so that's definitely on the list!
The Beach...
I grew up near the ocean and would go multiple times a week. Now I don't live anywhere near a beach and my boys were never huge fans of it so we didn't go alot. But now my teenage daugher is all about it so we will be going more often this summer!
Strawberry Picking...
The only fruit that all 5 people in my family likes is strawberries.... So we will be going to pick our own while they are in season.
The Tennis Courts...
I do love playing tennis even though I'm not great at it. I am going to drag one or more kids of mine to play with me this summer whether they like it or not!
A Red Sox Game...
Before we had kids, my husband and I would go to a game or two every year. Since they were born, we have gone less and less frequently. But I will definitley be taking in a game this year with the kids!
What are you up to this summer? I definitely need more ideas for some fun stuff. Please share!
Always creating,
Kathryn
